Greg Rogers was born in 1957 in Brisbane, Australia. He studied Fine Art at the Queensland College of Art, and had his first major exhibition in 1983, the year in which he won the SGIO Art Award for photography. He illustrated his 1st book in 1988, and in 1994, he won the Kate Greenaway Medal for his illustrations for Way Home, by Libby Hathorn. Has won a number of awards for his pencil work, but likes to work with pastels, ink and watercolour too. Libby Hathorn is an Australian award-winning author and poet of more than 80 books for children and young people. Her picture books have been translated into several languages and adapted for stage and screen, and have won awards in Australia, United States, Great Britain and Holland. She is the recipient of The Lady Cutler Award 2020 for distinguished services to Australian children's literature. Among other awards, Libby was recipient of a Centenary Medal 2003 for her work in children's literature. In 1994, her picture book Way Home was the winner of the Kate Greenaway Award for illustrations by Greg Rogers. |
