Ama Danesi was born into an Annang family in Nigeria and now lives in California. For years, she thought of herself as a finance professional who happened to write. She had it backward. Storytelling had always been the through line. After a career spanning Nigeria and corporate America, she returned more fully to her first love: crafting stories about culture, family, love, identity, kindness, travel, and the complicated meanings of home. Her writing crosses genres, from children's literature and short fiction to adult fiction and inspirational nonfiction, reflecting the breadth of a life lived across cultures and disciplines. Through her work, she explores the ties that shape us, the places we carry with us, and the many ways people learn to belong.Ama holds an MBA in Financial Management and an M.A. in Humanities. She is an author, storyteller, and financial strategist.Explore more of her writing at amadanesi.com.
