A local pub receiving surprising praise. - A month ago I was sitting chatting to someone in the Rose and Crown, Hitchin about my books. A man next to me said , "Are you an author?" I showed him my three published volumes of Jonathan's Tales. He then exclaimed, "Wow!" I have seen this first book. My daughter was reading the eBook version and loved it. He rang his daughter who is 22 years old. On closing the conversation he said, "Tom, my daughter wants me to buy your book. Look here is £20 as long as you sign it. If it is not enough what more would you like? My daughter is adamant she would like a signed copy, come what may." I smiled handing him the first two Volumes signed."
Verbal praise on selling my books face to face, a Polish connection - I was in Wetherspoons, Hitchin. A man saw and bought Volume 1. A month later he graced my company again telling me he had been to Poland and given his brother my book. He told me his brother is delightedly using it as an English Language learning tool.
Eleven-year-old in the same pub - A woman bought my book. Later she came in the pub with her son. He said I loved your stories. When he left with his mum, he turned around and smiled and strangely saluted me in a military way saying, "You are a master storyteller."
A 16-year-old in Stevenage Wetherspoons - Recently, a young boy in school uniform with several of his pals came up to my table and looked with interest at my now published three Volumes displayed. "You don't remember me do you?" "Sorry," I acknowledged I see many people. "Well, last year we were here and my dad bought Volume 1 off you. I so loved your stories. Now knowing you have published two more will ask him to buy them."
