Cecil Hobbes, an ex-PE teacher disgraced and looked down on in his hometown, has a new partner: Sir Valorous King, a knight of the realm, once a child of prophecy, and Cecil's stalker.
A few months into their relationship, Cecil finally convinces Valorous to see a therapist, on the condition that Cecil attend one himself.
This novel, Rescue Dogs, directly follows the events of the novella, King's Sentence, and it is recommended that you read that before this one.
This is a contemporary fantasy fiction work with elements of romance to it, but I wouldn't describe it as a genre romance. It is largely a character study and an exploration of post-traumatic response. Please check back of the book for an in-depth list of relevant content warnings.
