We may not have fully considered our comfort level with secular culture and its lifestyles. Displays of ungodliness and sensuality are openly opposing God's nature, and we may have grown desensitized to them. Sin is so widespread that we scarcely react when confronted with its practices and consequences. We expose ourselves to many influences; scarcely anything remains sacred. Regrettably, the distinction between Christians and non-Christians has become increasingly vague, with conversations and interests often closely aligned between the two groups. Christians must be aware that the enemy's tactics of vanity and weaken our resolve to live for God. We cannot ignore the deep-seated hatred directed at us by evil forces. They will use whatever and whoever they can to derail and deflate our faith in God. The central message of "Don't Get Comfortable" is to raise awareness among followers of Christ of the warfare waged against us by evil forces. Spiritual warfare is real. It takes shape in the spiritual realm and manifests in ways that are spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, and physically intense. It's subtle and covert, often going undetected until it strikes and wounds. We are constantly targeted by these forces. Scripture teaches us to be alert, watchful, and discerning of the times we live in, given the serious nature of the attacks, helping us discern that warfare is always imminent!
