Dr. Melanie McCoy is a retired educator and clinical mental health therapist with nearly thirty years of experience. She has authored three books, including Rub Some Dirt in It and Decluttering Your Prayer Life. Throughout her career, Dr. McCoy has held leadership roles in community mental health and substance abuse clinics, and she has taught at the university level. She earned her Bachelor's in Communications and Master's in Social Work from Howard University, and her Doctorate in Human Services from Capella University. Dr. McCoy enjoys a good book on a rainy day, a round of Sudoku, and going to the theater. Her happy places include watching the sunrise, walking in nature, and traveling. She is a proud Michigander, having grown up in Carrollton, Michigan, before moving to the East Coast.
