The Rev'd Dr. Tyler Parry began his service as Priest-in-Charge of St. Luke's, Scranton, PA, on March 1, 2025. He holds a BA in Philosophy from Houghton College, an MAR in Historical Theology from Evangelical Theological Seminary, and a ThD in Restorative Theology, also from Evangelical Theological Seminary. Father Parry began his ministry in the Methodist tradition in May 2003. He was ordained a Deacon in the Episcopal Church in April 2021 and a Priest in March 2022. In addition to his work at St. Luke's, he serves as Rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Moscow. A seasoned prison chaplain and public theologian, Dr. Parry brings more than a decade of experience in prison ministry to both his writing and speaking engagements. His published work, which appears in academic and popular forums, focuses on healing, presence, and the role of imagination in trauma recovery. Father Parry also served his country as an Army chaplain with the National Guard, in both reserve and active-duty capacities. He is an adjunct professor of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Scranton, a spiritual counselor and preceptor with Lehigh Valley Hospice, and the Protestant Chaplain at SCI-Waymart.
