A founding member of The New Yorker staff, Thurber wrote and illustrated such enduring books as The Thurber Carnival and My Life and Hard Times, such memorable stories as "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" and "The Catbird Seat," and such classic drawing sequences as "The War Between Men and Women" and The Seal in the Bedroom.
