After a career focused on Nunavut, during which time he travelled extensively across the North and lived in each of Baker Lake and Cambridge Bay for some years, David F. Pelly now lives on the edge of the Canadian Shield northeast of Ottawa. There, together with his wife, Laurie, he writes, paddles on Lac du Barrage, walks in Ayalik's Woods, and manages the growth of their foundation, the Ayalik Fund.
