Tracey Özdemir, known as The Dolphin Lady, is a passionate advocate for animal rights, particularly for cetaceans. After a decade-long campaign, she succeeded in permanently closing a dolphin park in Marmaris, Turkey, in early 2023, following a series of incidents that led to the deaths of five dolphins within a year and a half. Tracey frequently went undercover in marine parks, documenting instances of cruelty and neglect, with some of her footage making international headlines. She strongly believes in animal rights and emphasises the role of education and children in the fight against cruelty. Children naturally possess compassion and empathy from a young age, which inspired her to create stories that are enjoyable to read while also conveying the crucial message that all living beings have the right to live without cruelty. Tracey's second book, "Be A Voice", has been adapted into a screenplay by an award-winning writer. Upon hearing about the tragic and untimely demise of the two dogs in London, Marshall and Millions, Tracey could not remain passive and allow their memory to fade into obscurity. She is now collecting donations for a memorial bench and has committed to preserving their memory through engaging stories for children.
